What is Omega-3?

The Omega-3 is a polyunsaturated fatty acid also called fatty acids  present in beans, flaxseeds, walnuts and the large amounts is in the fatty fish such as fresh salmon, mackerel, anchovies, sardines and tuna.

Research shows strong evidence that the Omega-3s EPA and DHA can help in the diet and has an important impact on the heart; it decreases blood triglyceride levels, the level of blood pressure.

Omega-3  decrease bad cholesterol (LDL) and maintain the good cholesterol (HDL) , also fatty acids can help maintain healthy blood flow and prevent heart attacks.

The Omega-3 contributes to the overall health like their antioxidant role, anti-inflammatory and the prevention of AMD (retinal disease).

Omega-3 is easily damaged by oxygen, light and heat, which means that eating the foods that contain them raw is better.

Don’t forget that the Omega-3 fatty acid also reduce the total mortality and sudden Death in patients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction.
Omega-3 fatty acids prevent the formation of urinary calcium oxalate stone formation.
Also the consumption of the Omega-3 is associated with a reduction in prostate Cancer-specific mortality.
The necessary recommended intake of Omega-3 should be about 3 grams per day, but currently the average consumption of the population is between 0.10 and 0.20 grams.
But no worries Omega-3 fatty acid can be taken in many form like:  Omega 3 oil  , Omega 3 tablets, Omega 3 pills,  Omega 3 capsules especially for people who cannot get through a naturally balanced diet.


 A deficiency of Omega-3  can lead to problems of chronic inflammation, a weakened immunity, important cardiovascular problems and even neurological.
It is therefore a powerful regulator and deficiency causes a malfunction of the whole body and general body weakness.

The excess intake of Omega-3 can cause bleeding problems such as hemophilia, and a drop in blood sugar in diabetics.
Variety in food is important so make sure to reach the Omega-3 fatty acid in your nutrition.
